Doing the show gives us the pleasure of working with talented people. We consider ourselves more a macabre variety magazine, exploring the darkness of the human soul through words. I just finished an interview with author Guy Anthony De Marco for episode 5. Guy and I have been published in a some anthologies together and know each other through the Horror Writers Association, thus I was delighted when I found three short tales in inbox of the Fox True Ghost Story Project. We are featuring this trio of pieces and an interview with Guy on Episode 5, scheduled to be released Friday, December 11th. We not only talk about Guy’s writing but also his experiences with the other side, including some frightening elaboration on The Un, who haunted his daughter in two homes.
Guy is a force of creation. I’ve known his name through his role playing modules since I was young. Here’s a little more about him, his work and his new charity project.
Guy Anthony De Marco is a speculative fiction author; a Graphic Novel Bram Stoker Award® finalist; winner of the HWA Silver Hammer Award; a prolific short story and flash fiction crafter; a novelist; an invisible man with superhero powers; a game writer (Sojourner Tales modules, Interface Zero 2.0 core team, D&D modules); and a coffee addict. One of these is false.
A writer since 1977, Guy is a member of the following organizations: SFWA, WWA, SFPA, IAMTW, ASCAP, RMFW, NCW, HWA. He hopes to collect the rest of the letters of the alphabet one day. Additional information can be found at Wikipedia and GuyAnthonyDeMarco.com.
Guy is supporting a charity anthology, Sidekicks, to support other authors.
Sidekicks are used to being hidden from the spotlight shining on the hero they support. They work behind the scenes, doing their best to support their more famous companion. There are times when the sidekick becomes the hero, when they have to step up and save not only their hero, but sometimes the entire world. This anthology is about sidekicks who humbly take those chances. Not just the usual sidekicks normally associated with Superheros — any kind of sidekick in a science fiction or fantasy setting. This anthology evolved from a panel at MileHiCon in Denver, Colorado, titled “So You Want To Be in an Anthology?” The stories contained within were contributed by attendees of that panel. All net proceeds are donated to support MileHiCon.
We’ll be live with Episode 5 in a week.
